Celebrating 25 years of groundbreaking performances, The Demon Barbers are set to embark on an exciting anniversary tour. Known for blending traditional British folk music with high-energy dance, the award-winning band will be touring a unique show, featuring reimagined arrangements from their acclaimed back catalogue.
With multiple awards, including the BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for ‘Best Live Act’, they have captivated audiences across the UK and beyond, and this tour promises an unmissable event for both long-time fans and new audiences alike.
Fronted by Damien Barber, they will feature an exceptional lineup of musicians, including Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne (Squeezeboxes & Vocals), Hugh Vincent (Bass), and Alix Shepherd (Keys) as well as the return of Ben Griffith, their longstanding drummer, whose dynamic rhythms have been an integral part of The Demon Barbers’ iconic sound since 2004.
“We’re excited and thankful to be celebrating 25 years in the business,” said Barber. “This tour will be a real celebration of the Demon Barbers’ journey so far, and we can’t wait to share some of our earlier music again, as well as our better known tracks, with audiences across the UK.”
With 25 years of genre-defying performances, The Demon Barbers are renowned for their pioneering integration of traditional folk dance with more modern styles, particularly Hip Hop and breakin’. The tour will showcase some outstanding clog dancers, including Tiny Taylor, Laura Connolly & Sarah Davenport, along with the dynamic, Leeds based, Hip Hop duo Chris Banks and Marie Mathias, well known for their acrobatic collaborations with The Demon Barbers’ theatre company, Breaking Tradition.
Together, they will bring an electrifying mix of traditional music, Folk & Hip Hop dance, and unforgettable energy to audiences across the UK
