Dance Display - Burgess Hill – 15th Oct 2016

Knickerbocker Glory

Knickerbocker Glory is an Appalachian Dance team based in Alton, Hampshire. We perform throughout the summer at festivals, fairs, pubs and barn dances all over Southern England. In winter, we meet regularly to practise, and just to be sociable. Take a look at the photos and videos on our website.

We favour the precision Appalachian clogging style, dancing set routines to our audience. However, this has developed and become more relaxed and spontaneous over the years, and we are currently trying to extend our repertoire by introducing more flat footing, freestyle dancing, and a wider range of music into our performances.

Ragged Phoenix Morris

We are Ragged Phoenix Morris, a mixed side from Eastbourne. We are bold, bright and colourful with our swirling raggedtatters, top hats, big sticks and painted faces. We dance Morris border style, which traditionally comes from the Welsh border counties. Some, but not all of our dances are traditional, a few are Phoenix originals, written by our members, and a few more have been found along our travels, adopted and adapted. We can be found in and around Sussex and anywhere else our fancy takes us, making music, having fun and performing our own style of Border Morris.
